Illinois Conceal Carry is a class designed by the instructors at The Gun Shop Training Academy to get students prepared for Conceal Carry. This class covers all necessary state mandated training in the classroom, on the range and much more. This class will provide the student with the necessary training to apply for their Illinois Conceal Carry Permit issued by the State of Illinois.
Course Goal
The purpose of this class is to provide the student with the knowledge, basic skills and attitude to assist them in carrying a concealed firearm in the state of Illinois. In this class, among other topics, we will be covering combat mindset, shooting fundamentals and safe gun handling. The responsibility of carrying a firearm for your safety is a serious one.
Lessons
1. Firearms safety
2. The basic principles of marksmanship
3. Care, cleaning, loading, and unloading of a concealable firearm
4. All applicable state and federal laws relating to the ownership, storage, carry and transportation of a
firearm
5. Instruction on the appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or
carrying a concealed firearm
6. A live course of fire will be conducted during the range portion of class as well as a 30 round state
qualification
Prerequisites
Below is a list of training courses acceptable to satisfy the prior training requirements, consistent with
Section 75(i) of the Act, and the appropriate credit to be applied for each. Once this credit is combined with
additional training hours provided by the instructor, the approved ILCCF Instructor will certify the 16-hours
has been met. Approved ILCCF Instructors will inform applicants how much credit they will receive for their
prior training, and remind the student that the prior training certificates must be submitted with the ILCCF
Training Certificate when they apply.
